GCSE Record Results

Once more, De Lacy Academy is celebrating as our students have achieved an amazing set of results - breaking all records for this school. Progress 8, the measure that shows how well students have achieved against their starting point, is outstanding this year and is the highest we have ever achieved. All cohorts of pupils did extremely well and we are proud of the hard work and effort shown by our students over the past year.

Many students achieved the prestigious grade 9 in many of the core subjects and this is at a time when GCSEs are becoming more challenging! As Principal, Mr McCall said, “I am thrilled that at a time when GCSE exams have been made more demanding, the students at De Lacy have shown resilience and diligence, rising to the challenge and achieving frankly astounding results. They will use these exam grades for the rest of their lives and can do so with great pride and confidence. These results compare very favourably with other schools at both a local and national level. Well done.

Thanks go to all teachers who supported students through the year with lessons, extra sessions, holiday work and even Saturday mornings. Thanks also to the parents for their support of the academy, to the directors who assisted in key areas and to governors for their challenge and commitment.

Well done to all.
