I am a fully qualified Electrical Engineer who has worked for 50 years in the electricity supply and associated industries.     During this time I have held several senior leadership positions including, in more recent times, directorships in two     independent companies. I am a Knottingley born person, married with two sons – both of whom attended Knottingley High   School. In my 30 years’ experience of being a Governor I have seen many changes, most notably, the move to Academy   status. My view is that De Lacy Academy belongs to the community and students of Knottingley.  The staff members at De Lacy are committed to provide the best possible education for our students and the change in management and the move to  Academy status has led to a 50% improvement in achievement in the recent past. Our aim is to ensure sustained and consistent improvement to build on the excellent results of recent years.

I am delighted to have been appointed to the Academy Advisory Board at De Lacy Academy. I currently have two children studying at the academy and hope to be a voice for all parents with children here. My background is in Operations and Compliance and I hope to be able to bring the skills I have from this, to the role.
