Y10 History

Year 10 study two GCSE topics, both worth 20% of their overall grade; firstly, Elizabeth I, followed by the American West.

The study of Elizabeth I allows students to strengthen and build up on knowledge from their KS3 study of Elizabeth I. Students look further in depth at the problems Elizabeth I inherited, to the numerous plots against her, to everyday life in Elizabethan England. The study of Elizabeth I is based in the 16th Century, the Renaissance period, which students have previously studied in depth through their Medicine course, allowing for further deepening of understanding when looking at the social side of the course.
